Job Summary: The Housekeeping Team Lead supports the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department to ensure high cleanliness standards and guest satisfaction. This role supervises housekeeping staff in guest rooms and public areas, assists with scheduling and inspections, and provides training and guidance to team members. Additional responsibilities include responding to guest service requests, monitoring supply levels, supporting deep cleaning projects, and assisting the Housekeeping Manager with departmental operations.

Requirements

  • Valid US drivers license - required
  • Must be able to communicate in English, bilingual a plus
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including split shifts, nights, holidays, and weekends
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods, up to 4 hours while consistently bending and lifting
  • Detail oriented, self-motivating and strong communicator, both written & verbal
  • Must be flexible, adaptable, versatile, and responsive to the needs of the housekeeping responsibilities
  • Ability to delegate tasks, maintain high cleanliness standards, and provide exception guest service without direct supervision

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years of previous housekeeping experience preferred, guest service or hospitality a plus

Responsibilities

  • Organize daily room assignments for housekeeping team, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces
  • Inspect rooms and public areas for cleanliness, maintenance issues, and brand compliance
  • Report discrepancies and ensure timely resolution of any issues (e.g., work orders, inventory shortfalls)
  • Support inventory management by tracking linen, amenities, and cleaning supplies
  • Ensure proper stocking of housekeeping carts and supply closets
  • Deliver exceptional guest service; respond to guest requests and resolve concerns promptly
  • Enforce departmental standards and ensure compliance with cleanliness and safety protocols
  • Train and mentor new team members on room cleaning procedures, safety guidelines, and ergonomic practices
  • Monitor and promote a safety-first culture; conduct safety briefings and ensure adherence to OSHA and brand policies
  • Act as the primary point of contact in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager and Director of Housekeeping
  • Conduct periodic inspections to maintain standards in both guest rooms and public areas
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to coordinate cleaning needs and room readiness
  • Provide feedback and coaching to housekeeping staff to maintain consistent performance and quality
  • Support sustainability initiatives and ensure proper recycling and chemical usage procedures are followed
  • Assist in onboarding and cross-training of staff to ensure operational flexibility and consistency
  • Promote a positive work environment through leadership, teamwork, and recognition of staff contributions
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
