Job SummaryThe Teacher is responsible for delivering quality instruction while supporting the spiritual, academic, and moral development of students. This role advances the mission of Catholic education by integrating faith, Gospel values, and Catholic teachings into all aspects of the classroom.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
  • Valid state teaching certification (preferred or required depending on school/diocese)
  • Teaching experience preferred
  • Practicing Catholic preferred or willingness to support the mission of Catholic education
  • Completion of background check and diocesan safe environment training

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement standards-based lessons in assigned subject areas
  • Integrate Catholic teachings, values, and traditions into daily instruction
  • Create and maintain a safe, respectful, and Christ-centered classroom environment
  • Lead students in daily prayer and participate in Mass, liturgies, and religious activities
  • Foster student engagement, critical thinking, and academic growth
  • Assess and monitor student progress through assignments, tests, and observations
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners
  • Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and student performance
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and behavior
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and parish staff
  • Supervise students during non-instructional times (e.g., lunch, recess, dismissal)
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
