About The Position

Jenks Public Schools Job Description Position: Teacher – Elementary Summer Literacy Academy (22 openings) 9 Kindergarten Teachers 4 First Grade Teachers 4 Second grade Teachers 5 Third grade Teachers Reports to: Elementary Summer Literacy Academy Principals, Director of Student Learning and Literacy Supervises: None Qualifications: Hold a current Oklahoma Teaching Certificate in Early Childhood or Elementary Education or Reading Specialist certificate. Completed LETRS or IMSE Orton-Gillingham training to teach 1st-3rd grade Literacy Academy. Satisfy all district requirements regarding physical health and citizenship. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. Position Goals: To provide intensive remediation in reading to Kindergarten through Third grade students. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Plan a program of study that meets the individual reading needs of the students. Provide individual and/or small group instruction using specific intervention materials. Monitor progress and maintain tracking documents to show growth. Administer Amira Reading or Literacy First Assessment at end of the program. Terms of Employment: Jenks Public Schools Temporary Assignment Contract - June 1 - June 25, 2026; Monday-Thursday, 8:30am -12:30pm. Dates subject to change pending Board approval of last day of school. Compensation: Stipend - $2,250.00 R e quired Summer Program in-service trainings will be conducted for staff prior to the program starting date; Dates and times TBD.

Requirements
