The Summer English Academy (SEA) at the Connecticut Institute for Refugees and Immigrants (CIRI) is a four-week program designed to prepare newly arrived refugee youth to succeed at their grade level in the Stamford public school system. This year, up to 60 students aged 5-15 from Ukraine will participate in ESL, creative arts, and science. The Teacher Aide will support Lead Teachers in providing academic and social assistance to help refugee youth transition into a classroom setting. Each Teacher Aide will be assigned to a specific grade grouping, which may include elementary, middle, and high school levels, subject to change based on student enrollment. Candidates are required to specify their preferred subjects and grade groups. In the afternoons, Teacher Aides will facilitate various activities, such as Art Therapy, sports, dancing, and games.
