About The Position

Our R.D. Barnett PLLC PracticeDen (Veterinary Niche) team is seeking a tax manager who is passionate about driving our veterinary practice specialty, in addition to delivering a top notch client experience and skillfully leading and managing internal projects. The ideal team member is a confident leader for both clients and staff who has the ability to be flexible with changes in a growing firm that is still building the plane while flying it! You will have the opportunity to be involved in business development as well as managing and fostering client relationships. You will also play a significant role in developing, training, and coaching staff. We want our new team member to be excited about being at a growing and developing firm. If you want the same day to day responsibilities with the expectation you can predict what is needed of you tomorrow, next week, next month, this may not be the right fit. If you want to help shape a growing firm and grow with it, keep reading! To thrive at PracticeDen , these traits should describe you: Organized. You can manage multiple clients, deadlines, and internal projects without losing your mind (or your files). You follow up, close loops, and can instantly provide a status update without digging for 20 minutes. Communicative. You are a confident and transparent communicator in every aspect with expert written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Service-minded. You demonstrate a desire to deliver a superior customer experience and you don’t mind taking out the trash, both literally and figuratively. Eager. You enjoy working with a small but growing team of passionate professionals committed to changing the perception of how an accounting firm operates. Practical. You are more process driven than code head and can continuously weigh the cost/benefit both internally and with clients. Valuable. You are able to quantify the value you bring to clients and you are willing to defend that when questioned. Proactive. You’re always one step ahead because you’re an analytical thinker and can anticipate potential problems and needs, allowing you to be more efficient and provide better solutions. Mentor. You take pride in coaching and managing a team of young professionals. Innovative. You scour tax articles and other news sources with the intent of discovering and implementing new ideas and solutions. Self-Aware. You know your audience and can expertly deliver the right message on the right platform—in person, phone, email, Slack, LinkedIn, carrier pigeon, or fax (well…only for the IRS). Above all else - HUSTLE. We enjoy working hard and reaping the benefits ("work hard play hard" is overused and cliche, but that's us). Let's acknowledge that public accounting is not an easy field, but it can be thoroughly enjoyable and challenging.
