This Tax Manager opportunity is designed for an experienced public accounting professional who wants real client ownership , advisory influence , and the ability to lead people and engagements , not just review returns. You'll work closely with privately owned businesses and high-net-worth individuals where planning decisions matter, transactions are nuanced, and your advice directly impacts outcomes. Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive public accounting experience with a business tax focus
  • CPA strongly preferred (JD considered)
  • Experience advising closely held businesses and owner-led entities
  • Strong understanding of partnership, corporate, and individual taxation
  • Comfortable operating in a client-facing, advisory-oriented role
  • Experience with modern tax platforms (CCH Axcess experience a plus, not a barrier)
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card) required

Responsibilities

  • Lead tax planning and compliance for closely held businesses and HNW clients
  • Advise on partnerships, S-corps, C-corps, and individual owner structures
  • Research and evaluate complex tax issues tied to transactions and planning strategies
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, not just a technical reviewer
  • Oversee end-to-end client engagements, deadlines, and expectations
  • Review returns and guide technical execution across multiple engagements
  • Manage billing, WIP, and engagement economics
  • Collaborate closely with partners on client strategy and practice growth
  • Coach and develop seniors and staff through active mentorship
  • Coordinate multiple teams and competing deadlines
  • Help elevate technical standards, processes, and client experience
