About The Position

Works under general supervision to be responsible for the collection of
delinquent taxes.

Pay Grade: 48
Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education

Requirements

• Five (5) years of experience in telephone or in-person collection of delinquent revenues, including, but not limited to, tax collections or similar experiences; AND
• High school diploma or possess a GED; OR
• An equivalent combination of related education and/or experience.
• PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

Responsibilities

• Collects real estate, personal property, and PILOT taxes, as well as related fees.
• Develop and implement taxpayer payment plans consistent with Trustee policies.
• Performs research, including skip tracing, to identify property owners.
• Documents research and taxpayer contacts.
• Prepares requisite forms to reconcile taxpayer payment adjustments.
• Utilizes Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Access, to generate reports.
• Conducts testing of new software releases related to payment/collection activities.
• Performs tax-related problem resolution.
• Performs other duties as required or directed.
