Allied MakerGlen Cove, NY
6d$70,000 - $110,000Onsite

About The Position

Allied Maker is an American lighting manufacturer producing high-quality, bench-made lighting for leading interior design and architectural projects worldwide. All designs and fabrication are completed in-house or in partnership with generational craftspeople. Our work is grounded in materiality, and our production environment relies on human skill and judgment, with long learning curves and hands-on experience central to quality, aesthetics, and execution. As we prepare to move into a new 72,000 sq ft headquarters in Glen Cove, NY, we are building an internal Talent Scout function to support the company’s next phase of growth. The Talent Scout role exists to proactively identify, engage, and introduce high-quality candidates across manufacturing, design, engineering, operations, and leadership roles. This is not a generalist HR role. The Talent Scout is focused exclusively on talent identification and attraction, operating with discernment, discipline, and a long-term view of building the Allied Maker team.

Requirements

  • Strong ability to assess candidate fit beyond resumes, including judgment, work ethic, personality, communication style, and alignment with a hands-on manufacturing environment and overall culture
  • Experience conducting first-round interviews and screening candidates for role clarity, compensation alignment, and readiness to accept an offer
  • Comfort engaging candidates who are not actively job searching through thoughtful, direct outreach
  • Familiarity with manufacturing, trades, design, engineering, or other skill-accumulative environments preferred
  • Understanding of long learning curves, mentorship-based training, and the value of retaining institutional knowledge
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to represent Allied Maker accurately and credibly
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, including consistent use of an applicant tracking system (ATS)
  • Ability to work with discretion and sound judgment when handling sensitive candidate information
  • Comfortable partnering closely with founders and senior leadership, and incorporating feedback quickly and accurately
  • Self-directed and disciplined, with the ability to manage multiple searches without sacrificing quality

Responsibilities

  • Independently identify and engage potential candidates for current and future roles across manufacturing, design, engineering, operations, and leadership
  • Proactively source talent through research, referrals, and direct outreach rather than relying solely on inbound applications

  • Confirm candidate readiness prior to escalation, including understanding of role expectations, onsite requirements, work schedule, and start timing
  • Ensure compensation expectations are aligned before advancing candidates into the interview process

  • Build and maintain long-term talent pipelines based on anticipated hiring needs and organizational growth
  • Partner closely with founders and senior leadership to understand priority roles and evolving talent requirements
  • Create, post, and manage job listings across appropriate channels, ensuring role descriptions accurately reflect expectations and environment

  • Represent Allied Maker clearly, honestly, and professionally to prospective candidates
  • Maintain consistent communication and thoughtful follow-up with candidates throughout the sourcing process
  • Operate with discipline and discernment, prioritizing quality, readiness, and long-term fit over speed or volume
