Responsibilities

  • Accurately determines eligibility in accordance with local, state, and federal policies and procedures to ensure adequate and proper utilization of program funding.
  • Collects and verify proper documentation and conduct data entry as required.
  • Provides ineligible individuals with alternative resources within the center and community
  • Documents in counselor notes that a determination was made regarding an applicant’s eligibility status for WIOA Youth program consideration. This entry should indicate that the applicant’s eligibility status is either complete or incomplete & pending or denied.
  • Ensures counselor notes contain factual information, professional decisions and be written professionally and with integrity.
  • Assists individuals in determining additional information needed such as verification of income, assets and other legal aid.
  • Thoroughly documents and ensures each participant meets all the criteria and necessary documentation is accurate and placed in the customer file.
  • Ensures updates to any TWC guidelines are adhered to.
  • Verification of eligibility and employment.
  • Verify continuing eligibility at the beginning of each month for customers receiving TANF/Food Stamps in TWIST
  • Ensures documentation is complete.
  • Verifies all funding streams have been explored and case files updated accordingly.
  • Conduct Follow-Up Interviews with participants and identify the appropriate information to collect (i.e. new address, phone numbers, additional contact information, and supplemental wage information) and provide job leads/employment referrals if unemployed and seeking employment
  • Prepare and maintain records and case files, proper documentation of services provided, narratives of client contacts, or relevant correspondence.
  • Monitor and record clients' progress to ensure that goals and objectives are met
  • Maintain an awareness of socioeconomic factors bearing on unemployment, local labor community problems, and/or resources relating to the labor market
  • Maintain participant follow-up records, including file preparation, organization of file, and verification that all information has been received and properly filed
