AR Follow Up Specialist

Requirements
- Three (3) years of professional experience in the healthcare industry, with emphasis on medical billing, patient registration, or collections.
- Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle and billing procedures.
- Ability to meet and exceed production goals related to claim resolution.
- Proficiency in navigating payer portals and conducting claim research.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Time management and organizational skills suitable for remote work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to maintain a secure and confidential remote workspace.
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with AMD or Change Healthcare systems.
- Ability to communicate complex claim issues and collaborate with leadership.
Responsibilities
- Claim Resolution & Follow-Up: Independently manage and resolve outstanding claims; investigate denials to identify root causes (insurance, coding, payer).
- Payer Policy & Appeals: Apply payer knowledge (VA, Tricare, Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial) for next steps; generate clear insurance appeal letters.
- Analysis & Improvement: Identify denial trends for billing improvements; utilize medical terminology and basic ICD-10 to resolve denied claims.
