About The Position

SWCA Environmental Consultants seeks a Talent Development Partner who thrives on creating impactful learning experiences that drive results. In this role, you’ll collaborate with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and peers to design and deliver engaging training solutions, from e-learning and simulations to instructor-led programs, that close performance gaps and support organizational growth. You’ll manage projects end-to-end, leverage emerging technologies including AI tools, and continuously evaluate and refine learning strategies to ensure effectiveness and scalability. This is a temporary, hourly, and non-exempt position that will report to our Talent Development Vice President. This position is eligible for either hybrid-based from any SWCA office location or distributed (remote). Application deadline: Application materials are due by 5:00 PM MDT on February 19, 2026.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design/Technology, Education, Human Resource Development, Organizational Development, Learning & Development, Psychology, Business or related field.
  • Five (5) years of related experience in any of the following: instructional design, curriculum development, training delivery, e-learning development, or learning program evaluation, preferably within a corporate, consulting, or higher education environment.
  • Experience with surveys, analytics tools, and designing sophisticated evaluation strategies aligned with the Kirkpatrick Model.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and eLearning authoring software (Articulate 360, preferred).
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to adapt to changing stakeholder needs as well as take initiative where needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting enterprise-level system implementations (e.g., ERP, HRIS, or LMS).
  • Association for Talent Development (ATD) certification such as Certified Professional of Talent Development (CPTD), Certified Professional of Learning Programs (CPLP), or other ATD Master Program certificates.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with subject matter experts (SMEs), stakeholders, and fellow instructional designers to create effective, high-quality learning experiences including e-learning, virtual and in-person instructor-led training, simulations, and interactive activities that drive organizational learning and results.
  • Manages projects from start to finish, including facilitating proactive communication with team and stakeholders, adherence to committed deadlines, and conducting peer reviews to ensure deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Conducts need analyses by collaborating with stakeholders to identify performance gaps and define clear learning objectives to drive desired outcomes.
  • Designs and implements evaluation programs to measure the effectiveness of projects using Kirkpatrick’s Model. Communicates results and collaborates with stakeholders to iterate and refine training approaches for continuous improvement.
  • Leverages AI-powered tools to enhance both content development and learner engagement, manages virtual training environments, and maintains/creates relevant documentation on SharePoint.
  • Designs training materials and interactive activities to support delivery by facilitators, and provides preparation, setup, and logistical support during training events. May assist with facilitation if prior experience or expertise exists.
  • Stays current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and instructional design best practices through continuous education and professional development. Shares findings with the Talent Development team.
  • Provides post-training support activities to reinforce learning and encourage application in the workplace.
  • Collaborates with external training providers and utilizes content effectively. Seeks opportunities to incorporate vendor resources related to systems training to ensure scalability and cost-efficiency.
  • Takes responsibility for team safety, developing safety plans (when applicable), and anticipating potential safety hazards.
