About The Position

As a Talent Attraction Consultant, Specialist, you’ll lead and execute a high‑impact campus attraction strategy that builds a diverse, best‑fit pipeline for our business. You’ll be the partner site lead across the West and Central regions—or the sole lead for the Central region—owning university relations, managing budgets, and recommending new schools to expand our reach. With an entrepreneurial mindset and a consultative “sales hat,” you’ll inspire students to see Vanguard as their employer of choice and influence internal stakeholders to champion early‑talent hiring. You’ll cultivate and maintain relationships inside and outside the firm, translate insights into action, and communicate with clarity and presence...ultimately turning interest into applicants and applicants into hires who will shape Vanguard’s future!

Requirements

  • Three years related work experience, with at least One year of Recruiting experience.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies.
  • Professional and self-motivated.
  • Works independently and identifies when to engage others.
  • Strong relationship management skills with the ability to engage both junior and executive audiences.
  • Persuasive and tenacious: Selling Vanguard as the employer of choice.
  • Exceptional public speaking and presentation skills; willing/comfortable presenting to large audiences.
  • Excellent time management and attention to details; ability to manage multiple initiatives.
  • Strong project management skills, including event planning.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, high caliber, and dynamic environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in the field of University Relations and Recruiting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Execute a regional college attraction strategy.
  • Manage the day-to-day University Relations activities with autonomy to drive key initiatives, attract emerging talent, and provide a sustainable advantage for achieving business results.
  • Analyze various university metrics (applicant flow, total spend, school demographics, diversity representation, course of study, etc.) to drive school selection decisions.
  • Ensure that the relevant University Relations policies and processes are appropriately controlled.
  • Manage relationships with internal clients including Client Service Managers, Recruiters, Marketing Specialists, Hiring Managers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Work with the Partnerships Lead to incorporate regional and national sponsorship activity into the campus recruiting strategy.
  • Maintain a focus on the local market place, and disseminate local market intelligence to key client groups.
  • Build and leverage external relationships with key university contacts including career services, professors, student organizations, etc.
  • Attend advisory board meetings and partner with senior faculty (Directors, Deans, and Provosts) to convey key messages, shape Vanguard’s attraction strategy, and develop talent pipelines.
  • Serve as the main point of contact and source of information for students interested in a career at Vanguard.
  • Network with colleagues in the campus attraction space to learn and share best practices.
  • Manage company-wide campus resource team.
  • Mitigate risk by ensuring Vanguard resources are appropriately trained and prepared to support campus activities.
  • Update and maintain the University Relations Resource Center on SharePoint.
  • Complete mid-season and year-end readouts for resources and key stakeholders.
  • Act as a brand ambassador.
  • Drive Vanguard’s Employer Value Proposition to positively impact students and position Vanguard as the employer of choice.
  • Deploy campus marketing strategies, including the use of targeted social media efforts in alignment with corporate social media policies.
  • Partner with the Crew Resource Groups to maximize the company-wide diversity strategies and apply a diversity lens to campus recruiting events.
  • Conduct on-campus interviews and complete the initial screening of candidates for various roles and programs.
  • Participate in calibration sessions to provide feedback from on-campus interviews and to better understand the business hiring needs, qualifications, and objectives.
  • Partner with Recruiters to ensure alignment of on-campus interviews with enterprise interview requirements, standards, and expectations.
  • Utilize the applicant tracking system to capture all recruiting and hiring activity on campus.
  • Oversee activities of the University Relations Coordinator including planning, managing, and executing the tactical work and logistics associated with campus events (career fairs, information sessions, EXPLORE days, classroom presentations, etc.).
  • Proactively research new university attraction methods to create innovative attraction strategies.
  • Conduct external benchmarking to understand competitive university recruiting landscape and share best practices with team and stakeholders.
  • Utilize mobile recruiting solution, CRM, and other college related technologies to move talent efficiently through the funnel.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
