We invite you to consider a dynamic opportunity within our organization as a Talent Acquisition Specialist, based at our corporate headquarters in Chicago, IL. As a key member of our team, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will partner with our Talent Acquisition Team to develop and execute innovative recruitment strategies that attract, engage, and retain exceptional talent. Your dedication will be instrumental in shaping our workforce and driving the company’s success. Role Overview The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for supporting the growth of the organization by partnering with hiring managers across the company to fill existing and anticipated openings. This will be achieved through the development of local and national recruiting plans, employing traditional sourcing strategies and resources as well as developing new, creative talent acquisition strategies. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring high quality of hires. This position reports directly to the Talent Acquisition Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in recruiting.
  • Expertise in direct sourcing, networking, and engaging with passive talent across multiple channels.
  • Good understanding of the full recruitment lifecycle, with demonstrated experience in niche hiring.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), HRIS, and other recruitment tools.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Regional Managers, Division Managers and Department Heads to determine job requirements, specific skill sets and qualifications needed for open positions.
  • Leverage recruiting sources, market developments and best practices, social media and other business resources to build robust talent pipeline.
  • Identify and source talent through passive and active techniques, including postings, social networking, internet research, referrals and cold calling.
  • Review applications to determine best qualified candidates based on pre-determined criteria.
  • Conduct initial phone interviews with candidates to assess qualifications, technical skills and cultural fit.
  • Coordinate interview process with hiring managers, including scheduling interviews and following up with the candidates and recruiting team.
  • Ensure exceptional candidate experience through effective and continuous communication, delivering a compelling value proposition, and managing long-term relationships.
  • Develop and cultivate strong partnerships with hiring managers, serving as advisor and keeping them apprised on recruitment progress.
  • Oversee final selection process, including preparing and extending job offers, providing benefit information, coordinating negotiations and ensuring decline letters are sent to candidates as appropriate.
  • Serve as system administrator for the applicant tracking system (ATS), including troubleshooting, system optimization, evaluating and recommending system functionality, making modification, managing data and analytics, and ensuring data integrity.
  • Manage job description and post templates to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Manage the college recruitment program, including cultivating relationships with target schools, developing strategies for attracting a diverse applicant pool, coordinating recruitment and informational events, and attending career fairs.
