About The Position

THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE OFFERED A SALARY BETWEEN $62,868.00-$72,298.00. The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement and programs for youth in the community. New York City Children’s Services is responsible for the protection of New York City’s children and the support of the City’s families. The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) Office of Child and Family Health (OCFH) delivers direct medical services to children entering foster care and ensures that the health care provided is comprehensive and appropriate. OCFH also offers individualized case consultations and training to ACS staff and foster care agencies on a variety of health-related topics and provides clinical expertise in developing medical and mental health policies that support best case practice agency-wide. OCFH is comprised of the following units: Medical Review and Monitoring Unit (MRAM), Children with Special and Exceptional Needs (CSEN) Unit, the Developmental Disabilities Unit (DDU), Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Unit (PBHU), Mental Health Coordination Unit (MHCU), Pre-Placement Medical Services Unit and the Health Policy and Planning Unit (HPPU). The newly formed Systems Liaison Unit within the Office of Child and Family Health is responsible for managing the data needs for all units, developing, and maintaining databases, running reports when requested, identifying and troubleshooting system issues and training staff as needed to utilize these systems. Under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for OCFH and the direction of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), the Systems Liaison (DL) (CS Title: Community Coordinator) will be responsible for:

Requirements

  • 1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
  • 2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
  • 3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.

Responsibilities

  • Responding to ACS, foster care agency staff and Medicaid Managed Care Plan staff to elicit information, identify, investigate, and resolve problems related to system issues as they relate to children and youth in foster care
  • Performing case data review and data entry functions in OCFS Connections (CNNX); NYS Welfare Management System (WMS), eMedNY and other systems of record, when needed
  • Providing data support for tracking and data management across all OCFH Units
  • Developing and implementing quality assurance processes across all OCFH Units including troubleshooting and identifying system errors, review reports for system and substantial errors
  • Developing data reporting forms and generating data reports when requested by OCFH Leadership
  • Assisting OCFH staff with accessing and using OCFS-Connections, PSYCKES Database, eMedNY, the Welfare Management Systems (WMS) and other City/State databases to verify and compare medical, psychiatric, and other data
  • Acting as a backup for the Medicaid Systems Liaison in performing case data review and data entry functions in OCFS Connections (CNNX); NYS Welfare Management System (WMS) and eMedNY, when needed
  • Other duties as assigned
