The Medical Products Group at Analog Devices is seeking a highly motivated Hardware System Design Intern to join their team in the Boston area. This intern will contribute to the development of advanced biomedical systems by integrating signal processing algorithms with hardware platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in biomedical signal processing, analog/digital board design, and system-level hardware integration.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Master’s or a Ph.D in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of biomedical signal processing techniques and physiological signal characteristics
  • Experience with analog and digital circuit/ PCB design, including sensor analog front-ends (AFE’s), ADCs, amplifiers, filters, and microcontrollers
  • Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python for algorithm development and data analysis
  • Hands-on experience with lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators)
  • Knowledge of embedded systems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Design and prototype innovative HW/ embedded architectures for high-accuracy biomedical signal acquisition and processing
  • Develop and implement signal processing algorithms for physiological signals (e.g., ECG, PCG, EMG)
  • Perform system-level testing, validation, and debugging hardware prototypes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware design, software, and system validation groups
  • Support documentation and reporting of design progress, test results, and technical findings
