About The Position

The Systems Engineer supports the research, design, development, architecture, and test and evaluation of Department of Defense (DoD) systems. The role contributes to systems engineering efforts including requirements management, system design, integration, and documentation. The Systems Engineer develops technical plans and system engineering documentation, supports the use of engineering tools and frameworks, and provides technical analysis and recommendations to support system development and evaluation activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Operations Research, or Computer Science.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline.
• Five (5) years of experience in DoD systems architectures, research, design, development, and test and evaluation.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Operations Research, or Computer Science and two (2) years of experience in Department of Defense (DoD) systems architectures, research, design, development, and test and evaluation.
• Five (5) years of professional technical experience which includes at least three (3) years of specialized experience performing systems requirements management, systems engineering design, utilizing systems engineering software tools, and performing systems engineering design, integration engineering, and test and evaluation engineering activities.
• Knowledge of DoD systems architectures, research, design, development, and test and evaluation processes.
• Knowledge of requirements management and system design practices.
• Ability to implement systems that possess portability, scalability, and interoperability.
• Proficiency with systems engineering, requirements management, and architecture tools such as CORE, Rhapsody, MagicDraw, DOORS, Requisite Pro, OPNET, NETWARS, CaliberRM, and executable UM.
• Ability to develop DoDAF products including OV and OSD.
• Ability to produce systems engineering documentation including strategic plans, TDPs, system specifications, design requirements, SEPs, and test and evaluation planning documents.
• Ability to develop and support technical positions and justify technical recommendations.
• Ability to prepare technical publications and reports.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Naval Surface Warfare Center / DoD Test and Evaluation support preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support DoD systems architecture, research, design, development, and test and evaluation activities.
• Perform systems requirements management and systems engineering design.
• Support the implementation of systems that possess qualities such as portability, scalability, and interoperability.
• Utilize systems engineering, requirements management, and architecture tools such as CORE, Rhapsody, MagicDraw, DOORS, Requisite Pro, OPNET, NETWARS, CaliberRM, and executable UM.
• Develop DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) products including Operational Views (OV) and Operational Systems Descriptions (OSD).
• Produce systems engineering documentation including strategic plans, Technical Data Packages (TDPs), system specifications, design requirements, Systems Engineering Plans (SEPs), and test and evaluation planning documents.
• Support integration engineering and test and evaluation engineering activities.
• Develop and support technical positions and provide justification for technical recommendations.
• Prepare technical publications and reports.
