About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: As an IT Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of the server and network infrastructure. Perform responsibilities in accordance with all PlayLV’s Company standards, policies, and procedures. The incumbent is expected to perform other duties necessary for the effective operation of the department.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year College or Technical School, or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, in both written and oral forms.
  • Two years of experience in systems administration
  • Experience in Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Nutanix, Veeam, etc.
  • Experience with Hotel and Casino software applications, including LMS, OASIS, and InfoGenesis
  • Possess a thorough understanding of principles of TCP/IP-based networks; FortiNet experience a plus
  • Knowledge of computer workstation functionality and components
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service for all end-users
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Gaming License
  • Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices
  • Excellent hardware troubleshooting experience
  • Extensive experience with Windows Server, virtual environments, and storage area networks
  • Competence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits
  • Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Able to conduct research into networking issues and products as required
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Information Systems/Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Microsoft Certified Professional
  • Previous experience in a similar resort setting

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot system hardware, software, and network-related issues
  • Troubleshoot end-user hardware, software, and network-related issues
  • Serve as a resource for the administration and maintenance of server and network infrastructure
  • Notation of all completed tasks in accordance with departmental policy and procedure
  • Coordinate system development tasks to include design, integration, and formal testing
  • Oversees all transitions into production
  • Develop and complete actions in system specifications, technical and logistical requirements, and other disciplines
  • Create and maintain programmatic and technical documentation to ensure efficient planning and execution
  • Manage and document system configurations
  • Any other functions deemed necessary
