Role Overview Reporting to the System Engineering Manager, the role of the Systems Engineer is to conduct systems engineering aspects of design, configuration, implementation and testing for projects of Land Mobile Radio wireless communications systems and dispatch center technologies for Public Safety, Transportation and Utility Customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar technical degree with a minimum 3-5 years of prior relevant experience
  • Position based in Hazlet, NJ with potential for remote work

Nice To Haves

  • Two way radio systems including P25 and DMR multi-site conventional simulcast and trunking systems
  • Networking, dispatch systems and telephony systems
  • RF antenna systems
  • Experience working with RF, system design, networking configuration, system programming
  • Familiarity with technologies including Fiber Optics, MPLS, Microwave, VM servers, Windows/Linux OS
  • The ability to program, troubleshoot, and perform system diagnostics on simple and complex electronics systems
  • Strong self-management skills and communication skills to work closely with PMC customers as well as PMC Technical and Project Management teams
  • Strong presentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement RF and networked communications systems for public safety clients
  • Develop system documentation including design drawings, interface control documents, network configurations, and test plans
  • Perform technical planning, system parts ordering, integration, verification and validation, and risk/support-ability analyses
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Project Managers, Network Engineers, and other Systems Engineers to ensure full lifecycle project integration
  • Participate in customer and vendor discussions to support project execution and technical alignment
  • Present project-specific technical information in meetings and contribute to proposal development
  • Adapt procedures and coordinate work across engineering and field teams
