About The Position

The Systems Engineer provides hands-on technical support across the full system lifecycle, working closely with engineering, production, quality, and program teams. This role focuses on troubleshooting, documentation, configuration support, and sustaining engineering activities to ensure systems perform as intended and meet customer and regulatory requirements. This is an execution-focused role-ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, keeping systems running smoothly, and being the technical glue between design and operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • 7-10 years of experience in a systems engineering, technical support, or sustaining engineering role
  • Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and lifecycle processes
  • Experience troubleshooting complex, multidisciplinary systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and requirements
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Comfortable working in both office and lab/production environments

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting defense, aerospace, or regulated products
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Jira, Confluence)
  • Experience with configuration management and change control processes
  • Exposure to test planning, system validation, or qualification activities
  • Understanding of industry standards (AS9100, ISO, MIL-STD, or similar)

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for existing systems throughout development, production, testing, and fielding
  • Troubleshoot system-level issues involving hardware, software, and interfaces
  • Support integration, verification, and validation (IV&V) activities
  • Assist with system configuration management, change control, and impact analysis
  • Create and maintain technical documentation including requirements, test procedures, troubleshooting guides, and system descriptions
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for system failures or nonconformances
  • Collaborate with systems, electrical, mechanical, software, manufacturing, and quality teams
  • Support customer, internal, and audit-related technical inquiries as needed
  • Assist with data analysis, performance tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives
