US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System eXtended (US BICES-X) is a cutting-edge program supporting DoW intelligence information sharing on current and emerging global threats to mission and coalition partners and emerging nations. With an internationally dispersed team supporting each combatant command, the US BICES-X team is in direct support of the war fighter and their missions. We are seeking a creative and driven professional with a passion for solving real world issues on a cross-functional, fast paced team. Responsibilities: Serve as the primary NetApp storage administrator for a single-site environment, responsible for installation, configuration, optimization, and daily operational maintenance of all NetApp systems. Manage and maintain NetApp ONTAP clusters, aggregates, volumes, and LUNs to ensure availability, integrity, and consistent performance. Lead site-level backup and recovery operations using Dell PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM), ensuring data protection and rapid restoration capabilities. Conduct capacity planning, performance analysis, and proactive maintenance to sustain optimal system health and storage utilization. Administer and support Microsoft infrastructure services, including Active Directory (AD), DNS, Group Policy (GPOs), and Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM/MCM) for patching, configuration, and compliance management. Maintain and support Windows Server 2019+, Windows 11, and RHEL 8+ systems in alignment with established enterprise and DoD guidelines. Apply DoW STIGs and implement security updates and hardening policies to ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards. Integrate and support VMware vSphere environments, ensuring proper connectivity and performance between compute and storage resources. Provide advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for storage, server, and backup-related issues. Maintain accurate and up-to-date system documentation, including configuration baselines, maintenance logs, and operational procedures. Coordinate and execute scheduled patches, firmware updates, and upgrades in collaboration with network and cybersecurity teams. Participate in change management, incident response, and maintenance window activities to maintain secure and stable operations. Offer subject matter expertise and technical support to local IT personnel and end users as needed. Perform after-hours or weekend maintenance when required to support mission readiness. Partner with vendors to ensure effective IT hardware lifecycle management, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and retirement. Act as the escalation point for complex technical issues (third-line support), independently diagnosing and resolving advanced problems.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in IT systems and storage administration & engineering.
  • Must possess and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Active DoW 8570-compliant certification, such as CompTIA Security+ CE, CySA+, CASP+, CISSP, or equivalent (required).
  • Ability to obtain or maintain ITIL V4 Foundation certification within six (6) months of hire.
  • Proven hands-on experience administering NetApp ONTAP storage systems, including performance tuning and capacity management.
  • Practical experience managing backups and restores using Dell PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM) or equivalent enterprise backup solutions.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM/MCM), Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy (GPOs) for system configuration and patch management.
  • Experience administering and maintaining Windows Server 2019+, Windows 11, and RHEL 8+ systems within enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity with VMware vSphere integration and storage support operations.
  • Skilled in applying DoW STIGs, performing vulnerability remediation, and hardening systems to meet compliance standards.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
