About The Position

HPE is seeking to hire a Systems Engineer with software development and DevOps experience to work on our Session Smart Router (SSR) engineering infrastructure team. You will help run and maintain our software delivery platform, Artifactory, our CI system, Jenkins, as well as develop tooling and automation in our OpenStack Infrastructure. You will be working with our various engineering teams as well as the larger IT organization. We're looking for someone highly motivated with attention to detail and an ability to communicate with different teams effectively.

Requirements

  • B.S or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 4-6 years of experience with programming and infrastructure DevOps systems
  • Experience with multiple programming languages like Python, Groovy and Bash.
  • Experience with Git for source code management.
  • Experience maintaining enterprise grade, high availability, software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to deliver clean, modular code quickly and efficiently
  • Ability to clearly document processes and tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at management levels.

Responsibilities

  • Help run and maintain our Artifactory cluster and CDN integration for software delivery to customers.
  • Work with Jenkins to develop and maintain our extensive CI pipelines and task automation.
  • Help with infrastructure DevOps tasks like software deployment, maintenance, backups, and recovery.
  • Work with Ansible to develop and maintain playbooks for software deployment and task automation.
  • Use python to create tooling and services to help our engineering team work effectively.
  • Help our engineering and tools teams with OpenStack related operations.
  • Work with the larger IT organization to ensure our infrastructure and services are kept running securely.
  • Participate in design and code reviews.
