The Systems Engineer supports the engineering and design teams, assuming overall responsibility for successful technical project execution of the Hot SCR. The Systems Engineer role acts as a liaison between the Systems engineering team, supporting discipline engineering teams and the Project Engineer, with the responsibility for integrating the various engineering, scheduling, and purchasing aspect of the project in accordance with contract obligations. Familiarity with exhaust systems, emissions control technology (oxidation and deNOx catalyst and related equipment), flow modeling, industrial ductwork design, industrial fans, and construction are required (mechanical, electrical, and I&C). Familiarity with balance of plant (“BOP”) design and construction is desirable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in engineering from a four-year College or University required. Four (4) to six (6) years of directly related technical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Desirable But Not Required master’s degree in engineering.
  • P.E. license.
  • Experience with ISO procedures and OSHA safety requirements.
  • International business experience.
  • Japanese language fluency and/or Spanish language fluency.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
  • Selects and oversees all mechanical, electrical and controls equipment required for a Hot SCR system.
  • Supports the Project Manager and Project Engineer on all technical issues related to execution of Hot SCR projects. Interpret and integrate design requirements from parent company or customer (per contract specifications).
  • Supports the Project Engineer in planning, setting up, and monitoring of Hot SCR systems, coordinating interdisciplinary design activities, and resolving cross-discipline issues.
  • Understands the Contract requirements and supports the translation of the scope of work to the discipline engineering teams.
  • Monitors schedules and budgets to ensure Hot SCR scope is delivered on time and within budget, supports engineering execution reviews, expedites deliverables, escalates issues, and reports technical delivery status.
  • Supports Project Managers and Engineers in tracking and compiling Hot SCR design and specification changes and their impacts.
  • Supports regular meetings with international affiliated companies to ensure successful Hot SCR project implementation.
  • Participates in all phases of assigned SC projects, including bid support, requisitions, vendor evaluations, and commissioning support.
  • Reviews and comments on project documents and drawings to ensure contractual document flow compliance.
  • Assists with specification, bid analysis, vendor selection, and capacity assessment of MPWA-sourced Hot SCR equipment.
  • Maintains familiarity with engineering codes as they apply to the Hot SCR and related equipment, including but not limited to, ASME, ANSI, AWS, API, ASTM, NFPA and NEC.
