Coordinates and assists users with the analysis, planning, evaluation and documentation of computer-related needs within materials management providing administrative and technical support as required. Facilitates communications and acts as liaison and/or resource with Information Technology to define and communicate computer systems specifications, changes, and programs for assigned modules. Coordinates and conducts user training. Key Job Responsibilities Essential Function Assists in implementing and maintaining computer system applications and/or modules utilized within material management to ensure accurate recording of data. Assists in the development of objectives, policies, procedures and standards of performance. Maintains various information systems (i.e. Mckesson, Omnicell Supply Point of Use) to enforce data integrity, system compliance, maintenance, par adjustments, revenue and charge capture and user training consistent with hospital policies and procedures. Defines and communicates computer system specifications, changes, and problems. Investigates, troubleshoots, and analyzes system problems, requests for changes and/or enhancements in a timely manner. Coordinates the installation and upgrades of assigned systems/modules. Collects, compiles, and analyzes data in problem analysis and programming report specifications. Assists in developing application programs and reports. Modifies, codes and tests data as required. Maintains and assures data quality while analyzing and documenting user requirements for new computer systems, enhancements to existing systems and computer hardware Interacts with staff to assure full utilization of assigned modules and systems. Prepares or assists in the preparation of user documentation and operations/training manuals in accordance with established format. Assists with the design and implementation of computer downtime and recovery procedures. Provides technical direction and assistance to users to provide continuous operations of information systems. Provides follow-up and project/status updates to keep users informed of system activities/issues. Coordinates and conducts user training programs. Serves as administrative liaison; works collaboratively with information technology, hospital/medical staff, vendors, training and development and others in a customer responsive/professional manner and in compliance with iRESPECT standards to coordinate and implement activities; to promote patient/customer satisfaction, answers inquiries and resolves operational programs; communicates and interprets policies, procedures and standards of practices to promote an understanding and provide quality information services. Prepares and maintains required records, reports and files for operational, administrative and compliance purposes. Supervises, assigns and reviews work of designated personnel. Essential Function Maintains knowledge of best practices, current trends and developments in the field by maintaining professional certifications, reading appropriate articles, journals, and other literature, and attending seminars, conferences, and so forth.
