About The Position

BASIC FUNCTION: Continuously improve the facility’s production planning, inventory control, customer service, and logistics. Provide support to the Production, Maintenance, and Warehouse Departments in order to provide high quality containers in greater numbers at a superior level of service to the customer.

Requirements

  • Education Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Combined experience may be considered.
  • Experience Required: Minimum of three years experience in a materials position preferably in plastics manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of raw materials and inventory in plastics environment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs production planning on a daily basis and monthly scheduling to maximize equipment efficiencies.
  • Enter sales orders and subsequent changes to guarantee the delivery of customer requirements.
  • In accordance with company policy, purchase the raw materials needed by the production department to manufacture quality containers efficiently.
  • Communicate directly with customers to satisfy product and delivery needs information or planning requirements, and materials specifications.
  • Supervise and assist with inventory control through cycle counting, production scheduling, and warehousing.
  • Assists and performs regular maintenance on the manufacturing database to provide optimum use and accurate reporting.
  • Provides training to materials and warehouse departments. This encompasses the warehouse supervisor, cycle counter, and administrative clerk. Indirect responsibilities include the line drivers, materials handlers, and loaders. Responsibilities include compliance of all company policies including continuous improvement.
