About The Position

The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center (UNMHSC) Clinical and Translational Science Center (CTSC)/ SW CACTI: Southwest Center for Advancing Clinical and Translational Innovation is seeking a detail-oriented, results-driven individual to join our team as a Clinical Research Coordinator. CTSC is committed to improving health by streamlining science, transforming training environments, and improving the conduct, quality, dissemination of research from laboratories to clinical practice, and out into the community. In general, the candidate for the CTSC Research Coordinator position will have an undergraduate degree and at least 1 year of administrative work experience. This candidate will have the ability to read and follow study protocols, to work effectively with a variety of individuals including community members, and university and industry stakeholders. This candidate will need to possess excellent verbal communication skills, and the ability to work in a team environment. TERM APPOINTMENT; FUNDING AVAILABLE THROUGH 06/30/2027; CONTINUANCE BEYOND THAT DATE SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY OF ADDITIONAL FUNDING. The CTSC is a grant-funded facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual: Spanish/English
  • Drawing and processing blood (experience and/or training)
  • Understanding of medical terminology and research protocols
  • Experience recruiting patients to participate in research studies.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, and RedCap database.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision and also as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring study compliance with local and federal laws and regulations
  • Recruit and screen potential study participants, and performs intake assessments
  • Study orientation, obtaining consent, and data collection as needed for the study
  • Makes recruitment phone calls as part of CTSC Patient Recruitment Services
  • Creates and/or maintains all documents and records related to the study
  • Acts as a point of reference for study participants by answering questions and keeping them informed on the study progress
  • Manages the inventory of equipment and supplies related to the study
  • Attends meetings, events and seminars in order to promote the study
  • Collects specimens and inputs data and patient information into electronic systems
  • Draws blood from adult and pediatric patients
  • Travel - on a limited basis.
