About The Position

As a Support Technician, you will be responsible for managing support requests related to IT systems and solutions, both within the company and deployed with clients. This includes level 1 help desk services for end user software and equipment, configuring network settings on new hardware installations, and administering remote monitoring and management software for managed devices. The role requires attention to detail, comfort communicating with clients, and the intellectual curiosity to troubleshoot a problem. The role reports to the Director of Technology and closely collaborates with the Senior System Administrator.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in IT support, with hardware/software troubleshooting
  • Experience with network configuration, including IP setup and DNS management
  • Understanding of office equipment network integration (copiers, scanners, printers)
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting network, software, and hardware issues
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills for explaining technical concepts
  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Customer service orientation for internal and external clients
  • Ability and willingness to work onsite five days per week at our Middletown, CT, offices

Responsibilities

  • Provide level 1 IT support, troubleshooting network, software, user account, and equipment issues
  • Assist the senior IT team with server tasks, internal system improvements, and new PC deployments
  • Maintain and update documentation for IT procedures and client configurations
  • Monitor system performance and network health, ensuring uptime and efficiency
  • Administer remote monitoring and management software for managed client devices, using data collection agents like FMAudit, Printanista, and PrintFleet
  • Configure network settings for print devices before installation, including IP setup, DNS, and scan capabilities
