In this role you will be a change agent by working on the TFM2 contract. TFM2 provides modernization and life cycle support of Information Technology infrastructure that host national implementation of the FAA's Traffic Flow Management (TFM) functionality. It also focuses on long term engineering services and the development of new functional enhancements that increase the capability of Traffic Flow Management. HOW A SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT: Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements Provide technical support to development staff Assist with the configuration and operation of client-based computer operating systems Provide hardware troubleshooting and maintenance Upgrade firmware when needed Assist with the support of COTS products Performing hardware buildouts Build custom images to conform to FAA security benchmarks Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media and media is recycled Repair and recover from hardware or software failures and communicate with impacted constituencies Configure networking services and protocols Assist providing service and customer support during field visits Diagnosing errors or technical problems and determining proper solutions Produce timely and detailed service reports Documentation and reporting Follow all company’s and customer filed procedures and protocols Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings Build positive relationships with customers
