About The Position

Systems Administrator The Opportunity: We are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to support mission-critical infrastructure for a federal client. In this role, you will manage and maintain Linux servers, including RHEL, CentOS, and Ubuntu, ensuring system integrity, performance, availability, and security across enterprise environments. You will install, configure, and troubleshoot server sof tware and services while proactively monitoring system performance and implementing tuning measures to optimize efficiency and reliability. You will implement and maintain security controls such as firewalls, access management, patching, and system hardening to meet federal compliance standards. The role also includes developing automation solutions using tools like Bash, Python, and Ansible to streamline administration tasks. You will oversee backup and disa ster recovery processes to ensure data integrity and continuity of operations, as well as configure and troubleshoot network services such as DNS, DHCP, NFS, and VPNs. Additionally, you will resp ond to and resolve system incidents, c ond uct root cause analyses, implement preventative measures, and maintain clear technical documentation. You will contribute to and lead infrastructure projects such as upgrades, migrations, and new system implementations. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Linux system administration
  • Experience as Red Hat Enterprise Linux ( RHEL ) 8 or 9 Systems Administrator for applications
  • Enterprise Networks and Multi-server environments
  • Experience implementing and managing security measures, firewalls, or int rus ion detection systems
  • Experience building and supporting environments such as Testing, Contingency, Production, or Disa ster Recovery servers
  • Knowledge of TCP / IP, DNS, routing, and network services
  • Public Trust
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
  • Experience administering MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle databases on Linux and managed cloud services
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes, including AKS or EKS
  • Experience with administration or optimization of WebLogic Server across environments
  • Possession of excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE ) , CompTIA Linux+, or Linux Professional Institute Certification
