About The Position

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Systems Administrator to support enterprise IT operations and mission-critical systems within secure federal environments. This role is responsible for managing servers, monitoring infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, and supporting hybrid cloud environments while ensuring systems remain secure, stable, and compliant with federal standards. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience with Windows and Linux administration, hybrid cloud fundamentals, and endpoint/server support across distributed environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Additional FOUR (4) years' experience in lieu of degree.
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "TOP SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance and ability to obtain SCI.
  • Minimum of FIVE (5) years of experience in systems administration , IT operations, or enterprise infrastructure support
  • Hands-on experience administering Windows Server , basic Linux systems, virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper‑V), and enterprise monitoring tools
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS or Azure) and hybrid IT operations
  • Experience supporting secure, compliance-driven, or federal environments
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a technical team
  • Strong communication, documentation, and customer service skills

  • Desired Additional Skills PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting for automation and maintenance tasks
  • Familiarity with SCCM/ConfigMgr, Intune, WSUS, or patch management platforms
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust principles and secure configuration practices
  • Experience with backup platforms, storage administration, or endpoint management
  • Exposure to network fundamentals, firewalls, and basic cloud networking concepts

Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and support Windows Server and Linux systems across on‑premises and cloud-connected environments.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security posture using enterprise monitoring and logging tools.
  • Assist with configuration, patching, updates, hardening, and vulnerability remediation for servers and core IT systems.
  • Support identity, access management, and authentication services (Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, Group Policy).
  • Troubleshoot Tier 2/Tier 3 system issues related to performance, storage, networking, authentication, and application hosting.
  • Assist with cloud-based operations in AWS or Azure , including VM management, storage, IAM, and resource configuration.
  • Manage backup/restore operations, disaster recovery testing, and system continuity processes.
  • Maintain documentation including SOPs, configuration baselines, inventory, and system diagrams.
  • Ensure systems align with federal security standards (STIGs, NIST 800‑53, RMF) and agency compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with network, cybersecurity, help desk, and cloud engineering teams to support mission objectives.
