Position Purpose: A Systems Operations Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining the technical infrastructure that supports business operations. The role involves analyzing system requirements, building and integrating complex systems, troubleshooting issues, optimizing performance, and ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of IT environments. Systems Engineers work closely with cross‑functional teams - including software engineers, network administrators, security teams, and project managers - to deliver reliable and efficient solutions.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience with Windows Server systems management.
Minimum 3 years of experience with systems administration and/or design.
Minimum 3 years of experience with VMWare vCenter administration and management.
Experience with Microsoft Azure Deployments, Environment & Services (IAAS, PAAS, Virtual Machines, Active Directory, Automation, Monitor, OMS) preferred.
Scripting experience: python/bash/PowerShell preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and assignments.
Detail oriented individual capable of working both independently and within a team.
Ability to document processes and policies in an easy to follow format.
Understanding of VDI design, architecture and maintenance preferred.
Solid understanding of backup technologies and methodologies.
Knowledge of NAS or SAN technologies and how they operate.

VMWare/ESXi experience (installation, config, upgrade, and management.

Responsibilities

Directly responsible for the configuration, testing, and deployment of mission critical systems within their realm of responsibility.
Deploys/Installs, maintains, and repairs systems across the enterprise as well as provides some degree of technical support for the applications therein.
Provide advanced level troubleshooting for Server Infrastructure; responsive to tickets and requests which have been escalated, and that are outside the scope of expertise provided from level 1 and 2 Help Desk support.
Responsible for proper follow-up of escalated tickets, providing, in a timely manner, regular updates as it pertains to ticket status.
Administers systems/environment solutions for multiple projects with varying schedules.
Selects methods and techniques to be used for obtaining solutions.
Interfaces with vendors and various internal groups for trouble calls.
Performs all work in compliance within specified warranty requirements.
Obeys all regulatory requirements regarding system deployment, access, etc.
Maintains prompt, regular attendance and demonstrates a strong work ethic.
