About The Position

The System Administrator is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting Checkpoint’s US IT infrastructure. This includes managing servers, workstations, and network systems in the on prem Datacenter as well as service as an expert for advanced end-user troubleshooting. The System Administrator will also help maintain documentation and backup strategies while working to improve overall system efficiency.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in computer science or equivalent certifications (CompTIA+, MCSA, CCNA, etc)
  • Minimum 5 years working in IT support, helpdesk, or system administrator position.
  • Expert knowledge in IT Hardware including, but not limited to, Server, Switch, Desktop, laptop, Tablet, and phone.
  • Expert Knowledge in Microsoft Environment - Active Directory, Office 365, Windows 11, Windows Server 2022, DFS, NPS, GPO
  • Knowledge in Networking fundamentals- TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Network routing, and replication topologies, VLANs, Wireless implementations.
  • Knowledge in Virtualization platform – Vmware, HyperV, Nutanix, etc.
  • Knowledge in Modern Backup Solutions: VEEAM, Cloud backup, DR, 3-2-1 backups
  • Working Knowledge in Microsoft Cloud environment - Entra and Intune
  • Effective communication and critical thinking skills.
  • May be required to collaborate with outside contractors on project implementations

Responsibilities

  • Install and support IT Operations systems including but not limited to:     Routers and switches of various brands     current versions of Microsoft Windows workstation operating systems     current versions of Microsoft Windows Server     Microsoft Active Directory     VMWare (Version 7 and later)
  • Document schematics, layouts, and device configurations of hardware and network topology.
  • Management of the Data center room, including servers, racks, and cabling.
  • Collaborate with Facilities team members and contractors to manage electrical needs and HVAC issues
  • Schedule and manage contractors for new ethernet and fiber runs
  • Configuration and support for backups (Veeam), network monitoring, and diagnosis/repair of network related issues. Other duties include but are not limited to help desk support, workstation diagnostics and repair, and other tasks as assigned.
  • Assist in building and testing of new Operating system images.
  • Occasionally provide support during off-hours
  • Limited travel to other checkpoint locations
