About The Position

The Systems Administrator plays a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our IT infrastructure. This position requires a proactive leader with expertise in systems architecture, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The Systems Administrator ensures the seamless operation of servers, networks, and applications while safeguarding system security and performance. By leveraging a deep understanding of IT best practices, the Senior Systems Administrator drives innovation, supports business goals, and mentors junior IT staff, fostering a culture of technical excellence.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8+ years of IT systems administration experience, preferably in a multi-site manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Database Administration: 8+ years of SQL experience, ERP system support, including experience writing SQL queries, supporting SQL-based environments and manufacturing floor systems (labeling, scanning, shop floor integrations).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proficient in Windows Server, Linux/Unix systems, and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Familiarity with backup solutions, disaster recovery planning, and cybersecurity practices.
  • Strong documentation skills to create and maintain technical procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure maximum uptime for servers, networks, and applications.
  • Monitoring system performance and implementing enhancements to meet business demands.
  • Protecting systems from threats through patching, updates, and compliance with security protocols.
  • Leading troubleshooting efforts for critical incidents and conducting root cause analyses to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintaining up-to-date records of system configurations, incidents, and compliance audits.
  • Work closely with network engineers, application developers, and personnel to align IT systems with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with the Sr. IT Manager to understand their needs and deliver scalable, customized IT solutions.
  • Manage vendor relationships for procurement, support, and implementation of IT services.
  • Provide technical insights to guide strategic planning and present system performance reports to stakeholders.
  • Lead projects to modernize and optimize IT infrastructure, including migrations, upgrades, and implementations at the direction of the Sr. IT Manager.
  • Evaluate and select tools, technologies, and processes that align with organizational objectives.
  • Share knowledge and provide training to junior administrators, fostering skill development.
  • Define and enforce IT policies, ensuring consistent and secure system operations.
  • Explore emerging technologies and recommend solutions to maintain a competitive edge.
