About The Position

The Systems Administrator plays a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our IT infrastructure. This position requires a proactive leader with expertise in systems architecture, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The Systems Administrator ensures the seamless operation of servers, networks, and applications while safeguarding system security and performance. By leveraging a deep understanding of IT best practices, the Senior Systems Administrator drives innovation, supports business goals, and mentors junior IT staff, fostering a culture of technical excellence.

Requirements

Minimum of 8+ years of IT systems administration experience, preferably in a multi-site manufacturing or industrial environment.
Database Administration: 8+ years of SQL experience, ERP system support, including experience writing SQL queries, supporting SQL-based environments and manufacturing floor systems (labeling, scanning, shop floor integrations).
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Proficient in Windows Server, Linux/Unix systems, and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), firewalls, and load balancers.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Familiarity with backup solutions, disaster recovery planning, and cybersecurity practices.
Strong documentation skills to create and maintain technical procedures.

Responsibilities

Ensure maximum uptime for servers, networks, and applications.
Monitoring system performance and implementing enhancements to meet business demands.
Protecting systems from threats through patching, updates, and compliance with security protocols.
Leading troubleshooting efforts for critical incidents and conducting root cause analyses to prevent recurrence.
Maintaining up-to-date records of system configurations, incidents, and compliance audits.
Work closely with network engineers, application developers, and personnel to align IT systems with organizational goals.
Collaborate with the Sr. IT Manager to understand their needs and deliver scalable, customized IT solutions.
Manage vendor relationships for procurement, support, and implementation of IT services.
Provide technical insights to guide strategic planning and present system performance reports to stakeholders.
Lead projects to modernize and optimize IT infrastructure, including migrations, upgrades, and implementations at the direction of the Sr. IT Manager.
Evaluate and select tools, technologies, and processes that align with organizational objectives.
Share knowledge and provide training to junior administrators, fostering skill development.
Define and enforce IT policies, ensuring consistent and secure system operations.
Explore emerging technologies and recommend solutions to maintain a competitive edge.
