About The Position

The Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing the company’s IT infrastructure to ensure reliability, performance, and security. This role focuses primarily on server-side systems, including system maintenance, deployments, and providing advanced support for issues identified from the help desk. The Systems Administrator must balance a broad understanding of organizational objectives with the practical, user-facing impact of infrastructure decisions. This position plays a critical role in supporting core business operations by providing a stable and secure technology foundation and direct user support that enables the company to effectively serve customers and conduct business.

Requirements

  • Windows group policy and domain administration
  • Network and VPN administration (Unifi)
  • Microsoft Windows 11 and Windows Server 2019
  • Linux based operating systems (Debian, Ubuntu)
  • Virtualization (XCP-NG) and Docker environments
  • M365, Intune, Hybrid-Entra environments
  • Automated patching and update approval and deployment (Action1)
  • LAN and WAN technologies (TCP/IP, VLANS, Wireless, DNS, DHCP)
  • Network hardware: Switches, routers, firewall/gateway appliances, Wireless Access Points
  • PC hardware, Printers, Scanners, etc.
  • Active Directory Domain Services
  • Working knowledge of PowerShell
  • Understanding of file systems and underlying technologies of modern operating systems

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, monitor, and support server-side infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security
  • Perform system administration tasks including patching, upgrades, configuration, and capacity planning
  • Deploy and manage infrastructure components such as servers, storage, virtualization platforms, and related services
  • Respond to and resolve escalated technical issues from the help desk, providing root cause analysis and long-term solutions
  • Implement and maintain security controls, backups, disaster recovery processes, and system documentation
  • Ensure systems comply with company policies, industry best practices, and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Provide excellent customer service to end users and other departments as needed
