Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or minimum 4 years prior IT experience required.
  • Proficiency building/administering MS Windows OS devices, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
  • Ability to administer both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure (MS Azure preferred).
  • Working knowledge of VLANs, routing, and IKEv2/IPSec required.
  • Advanced decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and meet objectives without supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal personnel and client/vendor representatives both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to recognize and respond to unsafe working conditions.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as work demands, or as requested by Supervisor.
  • Must be willing to accept “on call” duties as required by staff rotation.
  • Must be available for occasional travel to remote offices, customer sites, seminars, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing Microsoft SQL Server instances a plus.
  • Microsoft Certified Professional, CompTIA, and/or CCNA certifications preferred.
  • Proficiency with the following manufacturers and associated management tools are a plus: 1. Operating/Virtualization Systems: MS Hyper-V, Windows Server/Data Center, Ubuntu 2. Backup/Diagnostics: Paessler PRTG, LabTech, Carbon Black, Veeam 3. Networking: Cisco, Ruckus

Responsibilities

  • Primarily responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, storage systems, and virtualized environments.
  • Work in tandem with Network Administrators to ensure optimum overall infrastructure performance.
  • Perform best practices administration of Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Oversee data backup, disaster recovery, and data-driven business continuity processes.
  • Coordinate with Information Security staff to conduct system and endpoint security testing.
  • Document and monitor systems to ensure timely issue prevention and resolution.
  • Perform necessary configuration changes and prescribed preventive maintenance functions.
  • Participate in formal corrective and preventive processes and continuous improvement projects.
  • Respond to telephone calls, email, and personal requests for technical support.
  • Cover afterhours, weekend, and holiday helpdesk on a rotating basis with other IT staff members.
  • Maintain proficiency in various software and hardware systems used throughout the organization.
  • Maintain up-to-date inventory of all pertinent components and licenses, including purchase date, upgrades performed, deployment details, and maintenance/warranty tracking.
  • Assist support staff with projects such as PCs/software deployments, new locations, &c.
  • Other relevant duties as required.
