Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance required at time of hire
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 5+ years of relevant experience (Or Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience)
  • Solid understanding of Windows, Linux, and UNIX operating systems.
  • Experience in server and network troubleshooting, performance tuning, and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS.
  • Proficient in automation scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python) and use of system monitoring tools.
  • Familiar with backup solutions, disaster recovery strategies, and secure system design.

Responsibilities

  • Manage functionality, configuration, efficiency, and maintenance of physical and virtual servers, including lab environments.
  • Perform system monitoring, troubleshooting, and diagnostics using enterprise tools such as Nagios, SolarWinds, or similar.
  • Execute and manage software updates, OS patching, and vendor-supplied upgrades.
  • Automate repetitive tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting.
  • Support network interface configuration and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Conduct systems analysis and proactively maintain systems with evolving technologies.
  • Implement and promote security compliance procedures and best practices.
  • Create, update, and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and system logs.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to isolate and resolve server issues impacting integrated services.
  • Participate in disaster recovery, backup management, and system performance optimization initiatives.
