About The Position

Amentum, a global leader in critical mission support, engineering, technology, and national security solutions, is seeking a Systems Administrator II to support a government contract based in Kings Bay, Georgia. POSITION SUMMARY Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages. Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels. Duties include: Maintain a highly efficient and bug-free Information System. Maintain system hardware and software resources. Provide some training, and assistance to end users to ensure proper operation of applications and procedures. Communicate effectively with end users. Accountable for: Completing all mandated training requirements per government and management directives. Timely and cost-effective performance of duties. Timely completion and accuracy of all responsibilities. Dealing with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations. Adherence to established company safety policies and good industrial and office safety practices. Compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures and Personnel policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or in an associated discipline; two (2) years of experience in related field may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college
  • Three (3) years’ experience in Systems Administration.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of business application software and relational databases.
  • Strong analytical capabilities in Application and Hardware Life Cycles and Project Management concepts.
  • Working knowledge of System Development Life Cycle and Project Management concepts.
  • Excellent communication, effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Current on the latest technological advances within industry.
  • Familiarity with various software and spreadsheet applications.
  • Successful candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must continually meet eligibility requirements for access to all areas of Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
  • Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
