About The Position

Provides support for the IT unit within University Housing and Dining (UHD). Serves as an administrator for the entire software suite within UHD's portfolio, provides server administration support for UHD and assists with all other IT functions.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting modern Windows Desktop computers.
  • 2 years of experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting computer-related peripherals.
  • 2 years of experience in troubleshooting, installing, and configuring various software titles including Microsoft Office applications.
  • 2 years of experience in troubleshooting network-related hardware.
  • 2 years of experience in Windows Server administration.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Nice To Haves

  • More than the minimum years of experience with functions listed in required qualifications.
  • Experience managing a housing software system.
  • Experience managing a point-of-sale system.
  • Experience with Active Directory/Group Policy in an enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with application support.
  • Work as part of the server team to maintain the UHD software portfolio.
  • Work with end-users to grant system access, make authorized changes, and enhance functionality to ensure we are providing the best possible experience. Systems include, but are not limited to, Oracle Simphony, StarRez Housing, CS GOLD, CCURE, and Food Pro.
  • Assist the IT leadership team with daily server administration tasks.
  • Deploy and monitor the UHD server environment.
  • Ensure systems are properly updated, backed up, and secured from outside actors to maintain an upstanding campus security posture.
  • Work with the rest of the server administration team to always be thinking about current and future needs, make recommendations to IT leadership about any system improvement endeavors.
  • Assist with technical support operations to include performing installation, configuration, repair, maintenance, and upgrades on Windows hardware, related equipment, and various university applications.
  • Provide computer desktop support and services to UHD end-users with a professional demeanor.
  • Participate in UHD Initiatives.
  • Attend regularly scheduled meetings.
  • Perform special projects and tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and occasional after-hours work may be required.
