About The Position

Demonstrates a “People First” approach as an IT Support Specialist by building strong relationships across departments and delivering responsive, user-focused technical support. Performs and coordinates the acquisition, installation, and maintenance of PCs and systems to meet the needs of A.Y. Industries co-workers. Collaborates with teams across the organization to ensure reliable technology solutions, reflecting the belief that “This Company Runs on People.” ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Acquire and install, configure, monitor, and maintain: PC applications, virtual and physical servers. Network operating system software, network backup software, and other network utilities. Network infrastructure, including cabling and shared devices such as switches and firewalls. Wide area networking, SDWAN and other data communications products. Office365 Provide support for IoT devices for manufacturing facilities Support Cloud infrastructure Selects vendors and monitors their performance. Troubleshoot and correct failures or performance problems involving any aspect of the above systems, using contractors as required. Assist users with PC applications. Advises Managers and Directors as they evaluate proposed new systems or upgrades (intranets, software, hardware, services) and as necessary when operational problems occur with systems in their areas. Establish network backup procedures and monitor backups. Monitor network performance on a regular basis and correct problems as necessary. Assist all remote facilities as necessary to support their wide-area network connection to A.Y. McDonald Mfg. Co., and to support applications that are run across that connection. Administer dedicated Internet connections and remote access, including security measures and usage policies. Implement and enforce corporate standards across A.Y. McDonald and its subsidiaries as they pertain to file systems, active directory, LAN, wireless networks, license compliance, remote access, audio-visual presentation technologies, telephony, and conferencing solutions. Add, remove and change users and computers on corporate networks including but not limited to Active Directory, Exchange, Zoom, Smart sheet, and other systems as needed. Review, test and diagnose network wiring for faults, labelling and proper installation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university and one to two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
