About The Position

The Systems Support Specialist II provides broad technical support for on-premises and virtual IT infrastructure, end-user systems, and core enterprise services. This role acts as a hands-on generalist, supporting daily operations, maintaining documentation, enforcing security practices, and contributing to continuous improvement of IT systems and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Broad hands-on experience supporting IT infrastructure in a business environment.
  • Working knowledge of networking, server and endpoint technologies.
  • Intermediate to advanced programming skills in Visual Basic or Power Shell required.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft-based enterprise environments (including Microsoft 365)
  • Exposure to network, firewall, and wireless platforms in a production environment
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills in verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Capable of writing and maintaining accurate documentation, guides and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support for physical and virtual infrastructure, including servers, endpoints, networking, and core business systems.
  • Diagnose, resolve, and escalate technical issues across hardware, software and network environments.
  • Actively manage the IT help desk system, prioritizing tickets and other workflow according to company requirements and operational priorities.
  • Enforce company IT security policies and assist with the administration of user access, permissions, and other security-related tasks.
  • Maintain data backup systems and associated media according to company policy and industry standards, guaranteeing an efficient and timely disaster recovery.
  • Develop and maintain automation code, scripts, and databases to improve system efficiency, enhance workflows, and ensure stability, accuracy, and data integrity across the company network
  • Maintain IT documentation, including support processes and procedures, technical references, user guides, troubleshooting steps and logs, to improve service quality and consistency.
  • Provide clear communication, training and support to end users and internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in occasional after-hours and/or weekend work to support maintenance, upgrades, or issue resolution based on business needs
