About The Position

As a System Administrator in the Sparta team, you will be involved in collaborating with management, IT service providers, and end users to ensure the company’s network, communication systems, and PCs are secure, up to date, and fully operational to support business and user needs

Responsibilities

  • Support daily network hardware and operating systems operations; this includes evaluation of system use, monitoring response times, and serving as primary support for detection and correction of operational problems
  • Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, researching event log warnings and errors, and continuous resource monitoring to ensure system architecture components work together seamlessly
  • Work with contract service providers to assist users with troubleshooting technical problems associated with ERP systems, servers, hardware, network connectivity, and system performance
  • Support LANs, WANs, VPN, network segments, internet, intranet systems, and other SaaS or cloud-based services
  • Provide help desk support, track/log all help desk calls, and properly escalate unresolved queries to the next level of support or appropriate service providers. Enter, manage, and update IT support tickets within our proprietary ticketing system
  • Assist management in the control, establishment, and enforcement of security for network and infrastructure technology, desktops, and end-users
  • Conduct SQL queries on company databases as required
  • Assist with database administration and upgrades
  • Address and troubleshoot issues, following them through to resolution.
  • Support clients both remote and onsite on a recurring and/or ad hoc basis
  • Record the problem symptoms, provide, and document resolution for hardware and software helpdesk requests and support root cause analysis
  • Provide first-level problem resolution for information systems services
  • Provide employees and clients with support and instruction via email, telephone, remotely and on-site for various software and hardware issues
  • Setup and configure laptops and desktops
  • Troubleshoot and resolve PC related problems and numerous 3rd party software applications
  • Maintain hardware and software inventory
  • Maintain and replenish the Company’s IT related supplies (toner cartridge, plotter inkjets, maintenance kits, fuser kits, thermal heads and ribbons)
  • Set up user profiles on new PC (email, network, printers, etc.) and coordinates scheduled maintenance for multi-function network printers.
  • Adhere to basic user account security in accordance with local policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as outlined in individual objectives.
