About The Position

A System Administrator will ensure the security and integrity of IT systems in accordance with DoD 8570.01M standards. This position requires proven experience in cybersecurity roles, including customer service, technical support, and system administration. CISSP certification or equivalent is required. A System Administrator must demonstrate expertise in networking equipment installation, system patching, and vulnerability assessments. Additionally, the IAT-II will lead teams to resolve information assurance issues, support hardware and software installations, and ensure compliance with IA security requirements. Note: Small sites with few requirements may only require Level I System Administration capability as a collateral role to another position. Larger, more complex sites may require additional duties and certifications for System Administration. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Requirements

  • Meet the Minimum Credential requirements and maintain the minimum training requirements for an IAT-II as identified in DoD 8570.01M.
  • Possess a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position; experience should include Customer Service and Technical Support, Data Administration, Knowledge Management, Network Services, System Administration, and Systems Security Analysis.
  • Within six (6) months of assignment, complete Government sponsored training on the DoD Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS) and the DoD Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and be able to assist Government IA personnel in the configuration and sustainment of HBSS and able to execute and analyze vulnerability scans upon request by Government IA personnel.
  • Possess current certification in CompTIA Security+ or equivalent and maintains necessary certifications and required forty (40) hours of annual continuing education (reference the DoD Approved 8570 Baseline IAT-II Certifications).
  • Possess applicable CE/OS Certifications.
  • Possess a working knowledge and familiarity with applicable cybersecurity instructions and practices (e.g. DoDI 8570.01-M series – Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program; CJCSM 6510.01 series – Defense-In-Depth: Information Assurance (IA) and Computer Network Defense (CND); DoD 8570.01M; and DoDI 8500.1 Cybersecurity).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience using and installing networking equipment such as switches, routers and firewalls.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with system patching and IA vulnerability alerts (IAVA), IA vulnerability bulletins (IAVB), and technical advisories (TA).
  • May be required to complete associated NAVSEA MTA/DTA training, Obtain SIPR access and complete the NAVSEA process to be assigned as DTA/MTA for LTF.
  • Obtain and maintain (if required) a DoD Personnel Security Clearance.
  • Must comply with all company Information Systems security policies and procedures.
  • IAT Level II certification required, and other certifications as listed herein or as required by program operations.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret the complex word and technical documents/diagrams.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Must be able to analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • An ability to interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from verbal, non-verbal, and written communication is desirable.
  • Must be able to calculate figures and numbers, and percentages and be able to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move at least 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to walk and/or climb stairs and ladders.
  • Must be able to accommodate confined spaces.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, and crawl on top or under equipment.
  • Must be able to detect odors, noises, bangs, etc., or other sounds to detect discrepancies of malfunctioning equipment.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors.
  • Must be able to perform Domestic and International travel as required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hardware and software installation in a client/server environment.
  • Support, monitor, test and troubleshoot hardware and software IA problems.
  • Provide end user support for all IA related applications.
  • Perform routine maintenance, to include diagnostic testing and optimization.
  • Coordinate and implement software backup and antivirus requirements.
  • Perform scheduled IA specific preventative maintenance of computer systems and network components.
  • Coordinate cybersecurity and ATO requirements with government cybersecurity/IA personnel, including the ISSM, ISSO, ISEO, and COR.
  • Other duties and requirements as identified and/or prescribed to meet program requirements.
  • Assist lower-level personnel by answering questions, demonstrating techniques, and providing guidance as needed to complete the requirements of the contract/program.
  • Performing contractor communication and coordination as a point of contact with Government personnel to ensure effective performance of the task order purposes and contractual requirements.
  • May be responsible for proper classification and marking of all information and materials.
  • Employee shall not divulge any information or afford access to other employees not having a need-to-know authorization.
  • Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval.
  • Will be required to execute company non-disclosure agreement prior to access to any controlled information.
