About The Position

KAIROS, Inc is searching for an energetic, experienced, and highly motivated System Administrator, to join our team. This position is contingent upon contract award. This position will be onsite in Charleston, SC. Established in July 2013, KAIROS, Inc. is a growing Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB) specializing in Life Cycle Program Management, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Logistics and Sustainment, Enterprise Platforms and AI, and Additive Manufacturing services focused on optimizing customers’ program performance and mission through proven methodologies and ethical practices. This position provides enterprise level IT systems administration, operations, and maintenance support for the U.S. Army Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC). This role ensures secure, compliant, and highly available IT services across NIPR, SIPR, and cloud environments supporting a worldwide logistics mission.

Requirements

  • Hands on experience with STIGs, vulnerability remediation, and ACAS scanning
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization, and enterprise monitoring tools

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other related technical field from an accredited college or university. Additional years of experience may be substituted for degree.
  • 3–5+ years of system administration experience in DoD or enterprise environments
  • DoD 8140/8570 IAT II certification (Security+ CE, CCNA Security, or equivalent)
  • Computing Environment (CE) certification required within 6 months
  • This position is subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. In order to complete the requirements for government security clearance investigation you must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to complete the full background investigation. This position requires an Active Secret Security Clearance.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Perform day‑to‑day administration of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file/print services, and virtualization platforms.
  • Configure, patch, optimize, and troubleshoot servers, storage, and end‑user devices across SDDC sites.
  • Maintain standardized imaging processes, workstation deployments, and hardware lifecycle actions.
  • Support multi‑domain environments including NIPR, SIPR, and isolated R&D networks.
  • Apply and maintain DISA STIGs across all systems (servers, workstations, applications).
  • Conduct vulnerability scans using ACAS, review findings, and implement remediation plans.
  • Support RMF security artifacts, POA&Ms, and audit‑ready documentation.
  • Assist with ATO sustainment, security testing, and continuous monitoring requirements.
  • Utilize enterprise monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, WhatsUp Gold, Splunk) to detect system issues, outages, or performance degradation.
  • Provide rapid incident response during duty hours and after‑hours (≤30 minutes on‑site, ≤2 hours on‑call, as required).
  • Document incidents and track resolutions in accordance with ISO 9001 and ITIL‑aligned processes.
  • Execute automated backups, periodic restoration tests, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Maintain site‑specific COOP/DR documentation and ensure readiness for contingencies.
  • Maintain system configuration baselines, SOPs, architecture diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Contribute to knowledge base updates supporting continuity across SDDC’s global locations.
  • Provide input for monthly status reports, compliance reports, and transition‑in/transition‑out deliverables.
