About The Position

McKim & Creed is seeking a System Administrator at our Corporate Headquarters in Raleigh NC. In this role, we are seeking an experienced and motivated individual familiar with the Windows environment and in general, an all-around IT professional comfortable working with an IT team in a mid-size organization to support and expand the IT infrastructure. The position will involve many different aspects of technology, and we encourage looking for innovative solutions to problems using the latest available tools. There is also a mix of problems and projects that ensure no two days are alike.

Requirements

  • Vocational certificate or two year degree is requested. Appropriate professional experience will be considered in lieu.
  • Additional professional certifications requested (such as MSCE, etc.?).
  • Ability to listen to the end user and ask questions to solve issues
  • Ability to research and solve problems
  • Experience providing technical support remotely required
  • Some overnight travel may be required
  • 5+ years’ experience with Entra ID, Azure, Microsoft 365, Windows 11 Device Management, and Window Server including roles.
  • Experience with system administration for Windows Server and Active Directory infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of and experience with security best practices and technologies related to email protection, endpoint protection, content filtering and patch management.
  • Basic knowledge of networking, including IP routing, subnetting and firewall rule definitions.
  • Understanding of basic network device configuration, including firewalls, switches and wireless access points.
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies including VMWare, Nutanix or HyperV
  • Experience scripting system administration tasks using Powershell, Python or Similar.
  • Understanding of enterprise backup systems
  • Understanding of workstation inventory and software deployment tools including the ability to create and deploy workstation images and individual software packages.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with IT Team members to provide end user support, to complete scheduled network maintenance tasks, and to identify areas of improvement or new requirements for the IT infrastructure.
  • Identify and implement solutions to improve these areas or meet these requirements.
  • Listen to the end user and ask questions to solve issues
  • Research and solve problems
  • Provide technical support remotely required
  • Some overnight travel may be required.
