Requirements

  • Intermediate experience with Windows Server administration, including: Active Directory & Group Policy SMB/NTFS permissions DFS and Storage Replica
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft 365, including: Azure Intune Exchange Online Teams
  • Intermediate experience with VMware environments (vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, Horizon)
  • Working knowledge of Linux administration (package management, LVM, SELinux)
  • Solid understanding of backup strategies (incremental, reverse incremental, GFS)
  • Familiarity with SCCM, patch management, Windows imaging (WIM), and macOS administration
  • Strong grasp of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, ARP, subnetting)
  • Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences
  • Experience or familiarity with SQL administration

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field or 2+ years of relevant experience
  • PowerShell scripting experience
  • Capacity and performance reporting experience
  • Experience with security tools and platforms
  • Relevant certifications such as: Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (or higher) Microsoft 365 Certified CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH, or similar

Responsibilities

  • Ensure high availability, performance, and stability of servers, infrastructure, and applications through proactive monitoring and optimization
  • Provision, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows, Linux, VMware, and SQL Server environments
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated technical issues and participate in root cause analysis
  • Identify infrastructure and security risks and implement corrective and preventative solutions
  • Perform regular system, security, and compliance audits (HIPAA, GDPR, PCI DSS, etc.)
  • Manage identity, authentication, access controls, and permissions across systems
  • Enforce password and security best practices organization‑wide
  • Design, maintain, and test backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans
  • Respond to outages, data loss incidents, and security events with detailed documentation
  • Collaborate with IT peers and business partners to design and deploy secure system solutions
  • Participate in on‑call rotation and occasional after‑hours or weekend maintenance
  • Monitor system and SQL Server health and performance
  • Create, configure, and manage SQL Server databases and storage
  • Implement SQL security policies, manage users, roles, and permissions
  • Perform backups, restores, patching, and emergency response
  • Administer Windows Failover Clusters hosting SQL Server
