About The Position

The Colonial Switchgear Projects team has the expertise to estimate, bid, and manage projects of any scale. These projects include but are not limited to large federal buildings, schools, airports and corporate institutions. We meet all project milestones, supply material in one or multiple staged releases and deliver to on-site or off-site warehousing. Estimator to prepare accurate, on-time, and competitive quotes for switchgear construction bids. Project Specialist should be a team player: positive disposition, appreciative of co‐workers strengths, forgiving of co‐worker weaknesses, share credit and losses, support team goal/budget, & bring a positive attitude to collaborative team environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and/or four years related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop & Maintain relationships with key customers
  • Support Manager and branch operations as needed
  • Partner with outside sales people as opportunities warrant
  • Partner with manufacturer sales people as opportunities warrant
  • Review plans, specs, addendums, customer RFQ and prepare responsible bids & quotes
  • Close clean & profitable orders
  • Stay Current with industry trends and products & assist co‐workers with product and market knowledge
  • Reach out when overwhelmed or unable to respond in a timely manner
  • Answer/acknowledge email within 1 day
  • Answer/acknowledge voice mail in four hours
  • Update voice mail each day with a personal dated message
  • Answer all calls with enthusiasm and maintain a positive attitude with customers
  • Express or highlight all concerns or obstacles to manager
  • Take ownership of problems and work toward full, agreeable resolution. Embrace change and suggest better methods of operation, & question why we do things.
  • Arrive on time, dressed properly and ready to work
  • Build relationships with customers and vendors that lead to profitable orders
  • Contribution to team Hit Rate and profitability (volume, margin, breakage/losses)
  • Seek & offer feedback with Customers, Vendors & Coworkers
  • Participate in training and suggest topics for team lunch & learns
  • Work with new employees to on‐board, train & integrate into team.
  • Keep good notes and documentation in files, work with PM to resolve all issues
