About The Position

Senior Vice President, Program Management - Shipbuilding is responsible for the capture, preparation for and execution of shipbuilding and shipbuilding related programs. Operates in a leadership role with a broader multi-disciplined team to develop proposals and win contracts. Oversees all aspects of program management, from contract award through design, production, testing, and delivery ensuring that cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality objectives are achieved. The VP is accountable for end-to-end program performance across the shipbuilding portfolio and for building the program management organization required to execute it.

Requirements

  • At least twenty (20) years of related experience
  • Ten (10) years in management required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Established working relationships within NAVSEA, PEOs, and the Washington DC naval acquisition community
  • Deep familiarity with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and the ability to interpret CPR/IPMR data to drive executive decision-making.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, or other industry-related field required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry
  • Professional experience in leadership roles

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Exceptional executive communication skills, including the ability to develop and deliver clear, persuasive briefings and decision-quality materials for senior government and industry audiences
  • Active U.S. security clearance preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assesses and documents milestones, budgets and matrix support necessary to pursue approved programs. Coordinates these products and their updates with internal counterparts.
  • IAW the approved capture strategy, leads multi-disciplined teams in the capture of surface ship programs. Holds reviews with SMEs and leadership leading up to submittal.
  • Partners with BD and GR teams during the solicitation process to understand Customer’s requirements/needs. Post award builds and sustains strong relationship with Customer, regularly communicating status and addressing program risk / issues / opportunities.
  • Ensures continuity of accountability from capture through execution and delivery.
  • Builds the program team necessary to execute awarded contracts at a rate that supports program execution. Attracts, advances and retains talent.
  • Coordinates with Hanwha affiliates (HPSI, Ocean) to ensure preparation and execution is in accordance with contract requirements. Engagements will be accomplished in accordance with HDUSA policy.
  • Implements controls and reporting necessary to monitor and proactively address cost, schedule and quality performance of affiliates / subcontractors / suppliers.
  • Establishes executive reporting cadence and communicates program status, risks, and opportunities to Leadership and the Customer.
  • Leads assigned programs, ensuring financial performance meets enterprise targets.
  • Responsible for customer presentations and interface.
  • Integrates Hanwha best practices into US operations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
