Position Overview: This is a highly visible senior leadership role responsible for driving enterprise portfolio governance and ensuring successful delivery of large, complex, and transformative programs. This role partners across business lines to align strategy, resources, and priorities, while overseeing enterprise program road maps, managing interdependencies, and partnering with executives to shape technology and business transformation.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Business
  • 7-10 Years Experience, progressive Program and Project management, leading cross functional teams, delivering enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • PMP or Agile or Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent practical experience.
  • Senior Leadership experience and presence, along with the ability to function as an expert partner and trusted, high-integrity advisor/influencer to executives.
  • Experience as a program/project director, orchestrating the efforts of internal personnel, as well as external implementation partners, software providers, and technical service providers.
  • Able to frame issues and options for executive decision making.
  • Proven record of managing and delivering large, complex, enterprise and cross-functional programs and/or projects on time and within budget
  • Previous experience leading large teams and people.
  • Decision Maker with ability to drive programs and projects autonomously.
  • Solid background building roadmaps, prioritizing initiatives across multiple teams, and executing on a strategic vision.
  • Comfortable engaging and managing multiple stakeholders at various levels including C-suite to achieve Credit Union objectives.
  • Makes decisions and proposes solutions without formal direction or authority.
  • Proven ability to define and solve complex business or technology problems, leveraging best in class solutions and project management techniques.
  • Executive level communicator with proven experience effectively delivering your message with all levels of the organization and able to influence key decision makers.
  • Meticulous self-starter with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Ability to multi-task and drive multiple programs at once.
  • Experience in regulatory, risk management, conflict management, and escalation management.
  • Solid experience managing Program/Project budget and financials.

Responsibilities

  • (25%) Intake & Governance: Lead the enterprise portfolio management delivery framework, ensuring governance and standards within agile and waterfall, hybrid environments. Partner with IT and business teams to align their standards and processes to the portfolio delivery framework. Responsible for establishing portfolio/program dashboards to report performance (KPI/OKR metrics, financials, and portfolio/program status). Facilitate monthly portfolio reviews and support internal/external updates to key stakeholders. Responsible for regular governance reviews and lead continuous process improvement initiatives. Lead and deliver project prioritization activities for the enterprise and senior leadership.
  • (25%) Metrics & Analytics: Own the Data and Analytics/BI Strategy for the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO). Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their analytical needs, translate requirements into effective data visualizations and execute strategy. Report progress to direct and executive management. Own the implementation of dashboards and reports and provide actionable insights. Oversee projects that improve analytics reporting, dashboards, and visualizations to support the EPMO and business with Portfolio Health, project reporting, and daily project activities. Research and develop new processes that improve on EPMO processes and project execution. Oversee project portfolio performance, identify data gaps and projects going beyond tolerances, and take corrective action to maintain standards in project execution. Coach PM Team and delegate tasks as needed. Analyze and understand business processes, business needs and data sets to recommend and use validated statistical methods to develop data solutions/metrics for stakeholders and management.
  • (Weighted 20 %) Process Reengineering: Lead/drive process methodology at SECU, i.e. process optimization, new process definition, statistical analysis, metrics development and measurement, process mapping, etc. Apply the Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control (DMAIC) framework and Lean tools to solve complex problems and optimize processes. Own the development and maintenance of accurate process documentation. Work with LSS Project Champions to ensure projects are aligned with business goals and are solving the process problems as defined in the project charter.
  • (20%) Tools & Support: Own the overall administration, configuration, and continuous improvement of the organization’s EPMO Tool platforms. Oversee system performance, user access, and security while implementing workflows, automation, dashboards, and integrations that enhance team efficiency. Partner closely with IT, business, and delivery teams to align capabilities with organizational processes, provide user training and support, and ensure adherence to governance standards. Act as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting, system upgrades, and vendor coordination, ensuring a reliable, scalable, and well-optimized Jira environment.
  • (5%) Stakeholder Alignment & Executive Collaboration: Act as the governance point of contact with senior leaders. Facilitate alignment between business strategy and project execution. Support decision making through structured recommendations and governance insights.
  • (5%): Capability Development, Training and Excellence: Lead training on governance strategy, methodology and best practices. Mentor Project and Program Managers and teams to enhance maturity and consistency.
