The Sustainable Community Schools (SCS) Resource Coordinator at Mather High School is a central leader in implementing the SCS model—a transformative, justice-centered approach to education rooted in racial equity, community self-determination, and whole child development. This role bridges school, family, and community partnerships to dismantle oppressive systems, foster healing, and create sustainable systems of support. The SCS Resource Coordinator is responsible for managing and expanding the Sustainable Community school programs. Key duties include recruiting student participants, coordinating developmentally appropriate activities, engaging parents, and supervising staff and subcontractors. The Resource Coordinator also maintains accurate financial records, relevant operational metrics, collaborates with community members and organizations to provide services that meet the needs of students and families, and promotes the program to support growth and sustainability. The SCS Resource Coordinator will deeply collaborate with students, families, educators, community partners, and leadership teams to build a shared vision and develop collective strategies that ensure the SCS Principles, Praxes, and Pillars are fully embedded into the school’s culture. You understand the importance of advocating for youth voices and modeling positive, responsible, and healthy behavior to the school community.
