UofL Dining is seeking an environmentally minded and enthusiastic Sustainability Intern to support campus dining initiatives focused on waste reduction, climate action, food recovery, and student engagement. This role is ideal for students passionate about sustainability, environmental science, food systems, communications, or social impact. The intern will help plan programs, track sustainability metrics, assist with outreach, and support UofL Dining’s mission to create a more sustainable dining experience on campus. Requirements

  • Previous food service experience preferred
  • Must have or acquire food safety certification
  • Demonstrates guest service skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the daily/weekly monitoring and documentation of the Babylon Micro Farms located on campus—tracking harvest data, coordinating harvest days, photographing produce, and supporting marketing efforts around hyper local sourcing.
  • Help enhance Zero Waste initiatives by inspecting waste stations, supporting recycling/compost programs, and identifying opportunities to reduce single use items.
  • Assist in planning and executing sustainability-centered events
  • Assist the marketing team with all roles and responsibilities as necessary
  • This position requires summer availability and runs through August 10.
