About The Position

The Sustainability Business Coordinator position is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and reporting on sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impact, improve resource efficiency, and promote responsible, sustainable practices for drilling products used in mining.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Biology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, or Sustainability Management
  • Five (5) years of experience as EHS Manager, Deputy Head, Environmental Manager or Specialist, Sustainability Manager or Specialist, or Labor Safety and Environmental Engineer in the mining and/or manufacturing industry.
  • The five (5) years of experience must have included the implementation of company environmental standards, driving and promoting sustainability initiatives throughout the business, supporting management and business on all environmental, health and safety (EHS) issues, EHS strategy implementation, conducting environmental and/or sustainability internal audits, and sustainability outlook development in the mining and/or manufacturing industry.
  • Up to 5% international travel required.
  • May telecommute from home within the Alachua, FL MSA up to one (1) day per week.
  • Work Location 13500 NW County Road 235, Alachua, Florida 32615.
  • May telecommute from home within the Alachua, FL MSA up to one day per week.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the strategic direction, targets, and roadmaps with respect to Sandvik’s sustainability business objectives and targets for mining products.
  • Develop business policies, processes and frameworks which promote and align with sustainability practices.
  • Serve as a catalyst and enabler for action, pushing the company to be an industry-leader in sustainability and ensure integration with Sandvik’s business and ways of working across all functions.
  • Develop strategies, conduct assessments, engage stakeholders, analyze data, and ensure compliance with environmental goals and regulations.
  • Drive the development and effectiveness of the necessary and appropriate processes, work culture and annual execution plans within sustainability.
  • Identify improvement activities and synergies and ensure internal information exchange on best practices.
  • Promote the development of Sandvik’s sustainability culture through strong global communication, campaigns, and training efforts. Participate in sustainability networks and related reporting.
  • Provide relevant coordination, progress monitoring and support to ensure delivery of our sustainability targets to mining customers, operations and suppliers.
  • Coordinate data gathering and reduction projects for the rotary drilling mining division, fact and science-based models, and science-based targets initiative through successive project scopes to measure, monitor and improve the company’s environmental impact from the supplier base, through internal supply chain, to customer usage of drilling products used in mining.
  • Participate in projects related to the environment and sustainability. Identify and leverage connections between our sustainability efforts and business levers.
  • Initiate and drive benchmarking initiatives with other Sandvik entities and external companies to ensure the use of best practices.
